A little about me: My name is Benee (pronounced like Renee). I was *basically* born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO, where I met my husband when he was in the military. We have moved all over the US and have even lived on both coasts! I have a daughter WIllow, and a son, Wyatt. When my husband had a career opportunity open in Longview, WA, we decided to move and grow roots here in 2024.

I know it sounds crazy that at 5 years old, I knew I wanted to be a part of people’s birth stories, but I did. I asked my mom if I could watch my sister be born at just 5 years old. She taught me the basics, let me stand at her head, and I helped welcome my sister into this world. I was hooked. In high school, I watched 3 babies be welcomed earth side to see if it was something I still loved. (Turns out I LOVED it!) I was trying to figure out what career path I wanted to take so I could be part of this special moment forever. There were lots of turns and curves getting here, but I took a college photography course and decided to give birth photography a shot!

I photographed my first birth in 2016 and have been loving every second of it since then! In February 2026, I got certified as a doula and am currently working my way through the DONA certification. I am currently approved through the state of Washington to serve medicaid clients as a Doula! I have always loved learning about pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding, and am always looking for ways to continue my education. Maybe you can teach me something while we chat about all things pregnancy, birth, and babies!
